It was fun... you can see me fishing and drinking a rum in the background ... :)

Digital painting "Brno"

I have new digital brushes imitating oil brushes ..:) so I just wanted to experiment with them and check how they will suite me... I choose photo reference of city where I live - Brno.  In the picture is quite famous modern big clock in the middle of square - some people hate it...:)

Anyway, I was playing with the new brushes and it was really cool...

Maybe, there will be some speedpaint video in the future as I was streaming the session and the recording is available...so maybe...:)

And one last thought - the perspective is right, obviously, but for my defense - the perspective in the original reference picture was also somehow weird... :)

"Bonsai" digital sketch

I really wanted to make some change and paint something different than usual. So I´ve fund some reference photo with bonsai and painted this picture based on that...

My intent was to create some sense of movement - blowing wind... but not sure if successfully.

Anyway it was fun, I was streaming the process and there will be also a speedpaint video from the recording later.

Acrylic painting "Sutry"

This unfinished painting was hanging on my easel a looong time and I had no motivation to finish it.,,,and I was too lazy. I suppose that I´ve lost the initial idea and also passion for the scene disappeared.

Anyway, I really wanted to start something new and I hate to left unfinished work just like that. So this is it. 

Acrylics on 24 x 32 cm cardboard 400g/m2, signed and still need to be varnished...

"Sutry" means something like big rocks...:)

Sketching with ink and watercolor

Here comes some update after a long silence... I was practicing perspective by sketching buildings. I was using ink and water mixable pen (watercolor pen? ). It´s quite quick method.

Value study

I saw nice photo in a catholic calendar and I made this acrylic value study. Used just burned umber and 24x32cm cardboard...
Nothing fancy, I just wanted to share it...

  

Acrylic painting "Stromokaktus"

My fresh new acrylic painting based on my photo from holiday on Crete. There were these interesting and unknown (for me) plants, not sure if it is tree or flower or what, but it was pretty high, around 4-5 meters or so. green trunk with tiny branches ended with clots of something... :)

The picture was completely painted with pallet knife and I was trying to create some color structure/relief - kind of impasto,  but not very successfully.

Painted on gessoed 40 x 30 cm hardboard, signed and will be varnished...

I´ve finished painting of my parents house finally... was working on this too long (meaning - walking around this on my easel). Not very good idea to go start with very poor reference from google street map, moreover printed just in black and white...  next time I´ll be smarter, proper colorful photo reference can make things much easier...

btw, I hate that green...

Acrylic painting (study) "Louka u lesa"

Here comes next traditional painting (study) inspired by another artist - Laurel Daniel . She´s very inspiring plain air painter with wonderful works full of colors and light...

During this study I was focusing mainly on big color masses and the mentioned light. Also details are partially suppressed.

I was using painting knife from the beginning so there are also visible some marks...

Portable plain air easel

I was working on my new transportable easel - I would like to focus on plain air paintings this year, so I need to prepare proper gear for it...  Base of the easel is a standard portable camera tripod, the rest are mainly hardboard parts made by me. No rocket science, just check the picture...

Acrylic sketches
Here comes some traditional landscape pictures, I was mostly experimenting with different types of acrylic paint and some techniques.
I´ve  also started new sketchbook for these color experiments. Nothing fancy, just a standard paper, will see how it will handle all the paint...

Acrylic painting "K lesu"

Here comes the acrylic painting I was working during this weekend. It is inspired by really nice landscape painting from Czech painter Zdenek Jancik. My piece is not exact copy, it just follow the landscape concept... I will not sell it, it´s more like study work and I will hang it on my own wall.

Dusty roads leading to a forest are well known to me and I was walking through a lot of them when I was younger...

Acrylic painting "Autumn river"

Hi there! :)

I was wondering that I should paint some "fine real art" after some time... so I took a stretched canvas I had bought a long time ago, fancy acrylic colors, my best brushes and here it is... :)

Autumn topic is quite suitable these days.
